Suggest Treatment For Muscular Tenderness In The Left Arm And Thighs

I am having muscular tenderness. First only in my left arm but now also in both thighs. Right arm is not affected. I take 10mg sim a station and have been on this dose for several years. I have reduced the dose to 5mg for the last 3 weeks but no improvement. I live on 20 acres with chickens, donkeys and deer. No low grade fever.

Hi,
Thanks for using HCM for your health issues. I understand your concern.
- SIM 10 mg contains statin drugs to control cholesterol. Statins do have an adverse effect causing muscle tenderness.But this effect is mostly lessened by stopping/ reducing the medication for the days it was consumed... in your case it has been taken for several years, so it might not lessen so early.
In such a case you can do few things to control the pain-
- Avoid taking Grape juice along with / before or after the pill.
- Low vitamin D levels also facilitate muscle pain .. get it checked & replaced , to help muscle pain to go.
-It's better to stop taking statins & control cholesterol by sufficient exercises & controlled diet with dietitian's advise.If you must take statins , try Fluvastatin ( it's less potent but also less effect on muscles - so can be used with diet & exercises-
* Also get examined for calcium & vitamin D deficiency which can cause muscle pain.
- Over Exertion while managing 20 acres & managing the work there may cause such pain due to muscle exhaustion.Change working pattern/ get assistance
- Multiple sclerosis/ Disc problem in cervical( hand affection ) or Lumber spine( legs affection )also needs to be excluded .
