Suggest Treatment For Noisy Breathing At Night With Coughing

Hi, my 2.5 year old has a raspy voice when he talks and has been sick with cold symptoms for a few days prior with a cough. He is not waking at night but breaths noisily at times during the night. His cough is also raspy but it doesn t quit sound like a croup-like cough as he has had that many times before. He plays and is happy during the day. Should I be concerned with this?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hello,

By what you say I feel that you are kid maybe recovering from long-standing viral pharyngitis and the best treatment for this will be voice rest which is almost impossible in this age group.

You need not worry about this and this is self-limiting and will gradually get better in 3 to 4 weeks time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
