I have been to the doctor and they told me I had an outer ear infection so they put me on antibiotics for it as well a UTI to fight both of them I went back 2 weeks later because the ear infection was still there so they put me on antibiotic ear drops for 7 days and it has been 5 days now since I got put on them. My ear is now hurting really bad around it and along my jaw. My lymph node is swollen a little bit as well I have an appointment tomorrow what to expect concerning my ear .. What may they do being its not going away it has me really worried. Why isn t it going away??
As per my clinical experience, the persistence of ear infection with swollen lymph nodes might be in concern with various possibilities as: - Drug resistance organism - Incorrect diagnosis - Hidden inner ear pathology not revealed upon clinical examination - Internal brain pathology manifesting as out ear infection - Uncontrolled diabetes - Other immune compromised states as HIV or others
However, a details of your current and past therapy can be helpful to evaluate here before proceeding for further comments and guidelines. If any ear discharge is noticeable, a culture swab of the same as well as fasting blood sugar and total white cell counts would be best needed at this point of time.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
