Suggest Treatment For Pain After Twisting The Ankle
I twisted my ankle no fracture but im in sever pain im at home when I can resume my normal life like going to gym walk and go outdoor secondly im on labitor 10 mg for cholesterol im taking it for two months then the cholesterol getting normal then I stopped aftert few months I get high cholesterol againsome doctor said you must not stop taking the labitor is that right im 46 yrs old and hypertensive
Yes, if you have been twisting you ankle recently, should stop taking Lipitor to avoid further damage. It is well known the fact that statins like Lipitor will cause damages to muscles.
I think you should get an x-ray of the ankle or even an MRI to rule out more serious problems other than fracture.
Next, should keep the ankle immobilized for some time until improvement. Should also keep it raised as much as you can.
Apply local analgesic cream. Magnesium can help alleviate muscle spasms without causing spikes in blood pressure.
Keep following up with orthopedic specialist if no improvement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
