Hello,

For painful stomach ulcer, you need to investigate with H. pylori test first. Urea breath test like non-invasive test beneficial in such case.

I suggest taking rabeprazole to heal stomach ulcer.

Meanwhile avoid gastric irritant like...
_excess spicy foods
_excess tea, coffee
_stress
_smoking

Cooked oatmeal can help in soothing the stomach.

If no improvement than I suggest investigate with endoscopy for further work up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
