Suggest Treatment For Pain And Tenderness In Left Breast

I just recently developed pain in my left breast on the underside. It is not a sharp pounding pain, but a more dull achy kind; it is tender to the touch. I don t see any discolorations, had a Mamorgram in April this year. I have fatty tissue in the breasts so it is difficult to tell if it s a lump or just the fatty tissue. Is this something that I need to address immediately?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pain and tenderness in the breast can be related to mastitis which is an inflammation or infection of the breast. I recommend to do a mammogram to confirmed the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest using painkillers such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
