Hi Doctor, i have been suffering from pain during bowel movement(no bleeding though) for the past 1 week. I ignored it for the first few days hoping it would get better on its own. When the pain continued, i got a tube of anovate and a a bottle of cremaffin and have been using them for the past 2 days. The pain has reduced but only slightly. How much more time will it take for the pain to reduce? Should i try some other medication? Thanks
Hi thank you for querry, if such patient came to me with history of paonful defecation but no blood it suggest that patient may be suffering from anal fissure in which some time a tear develop in anal mucosa leading to increase tone of internal anal sphincter causing the anal fissure. in acute cases like yours it depends upon the tear for which local perianal examination is necessary proctoscopy usually not done due to pain. in acute cases like yours treatment is medical if it fails than required surgery. Take more fibers diet, plenty of water, along with laxative GTN ointment along with 5% xylocaine gel is effective sitz bath are also effective. hope the answer will improve your health and give info about your disease and for further mangement. wish you good health.
