Suggest Treatment For Pain During Intercourse

Hello, I have had happy and pleasurable sex with my partner for the last year. However, recently I have started to find it quite painful despite the use of lubricants. He is well endowed and I am small but since we have had non-painful sex many times before I couldn t see this as being the issue. With a previous partner I got thrush and found the treatment of this helped any soreness. I thought this could be the problem this time around so I have used Canesten HC cream but found it gave me a burning sensation this time. Is there anything you can suggest?

Welcome to HCM.
There are many reasons for for painful intercourse. I am not able to find your age from this site. If you are nearing menopause, then it could be due to lack of lubrication and atrophy of the vagina. If you are young, minute trauma to your external genitals could be a cause for painful sex. Till it heals an absolute abstinence is indicated. Yeast infection and other infection of reproductive tract are the other possibilities. Canestan HC application alone can not cure the thrush. You may need systemic anti-fungal antibiotics for 3-4 weeks for a complete cure to be achieved. A careful examination and investigations will reveal the exact cause. Treatment has to be planned as per the outcome. Then you will get back you pleasant experience back with your intercourse.
