Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I'm having great pain from a hernia. Feel like I'm going to throw up and it's looks like I'm nine months pregnant. So much pain. What should I do I've already been to my doctor and he said surgery needs to happen and I'm just waiting for them to call me and tell me when. That was yesterday. Today the pain is so much worse than before. What should I do?
hi, Thank you for posting your query in HCM, i understand your concern. Abdominal hernias could be dangerous if left untreated, they could cause strangulation and sudden death, i recommend you to get the surgery as early as possible. Meanwhile the pain can be reduced a little by wearing a abdominal support/belt which should be able to bring you some relief. Avoid lifting heavy weights or doing much of bending or stretching exercises. A painkiller like aceclofenac/ ibuprofen can relieve you for a while but surgery is the absolute treatment otherwise. Hope this helps. Wish you good health. Write back to me if you need further assistance.
