Suggest Treatment For Pain In Hands, Wrists And Thumbs

I have constant pain in my hands, wrists, thumbs and now the appearance of knots or bumps on the top of my left hand. Sometimes the pain can keep me awake at night. Could it be rheumatoid arthritis? I have osteoarthritis including back and knees (replaced) and fibromyalgia.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per your description, the possibilities are arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome.

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedic and get evaluated.

A detailed evaluation is required including an MRI and blood work up to make a diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
