My throat has felt odd for over a month now and is not getting better, I have a small pain around my Adam s apple area it also hurts when I turn my head certain directions sometimes worse than others. It is not a normal sore pain though if I had to guess I d say right under my Adam s apple.
HI. The chronic pain under the Adam's apple area is usually due to Chondritis of the cartilages which make the voice box and the tracheal rings and a cricoid cartilage. The inflammation in the said cartilages come very fast but takes time to settle because of the very small blood supply, the draining veins can get blocked so easily by the edema and the swelling remains for a long time. Get this examined by an ENT Surgeon and get a prescription of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines and oral steroids. Take a course of 1 to 3 weeks and you will be fine.
