Suggest Treatment For Painful Ear With Crackling Sound
i am having a sensation of blocked ear on the left side for the past 10 days, went to an ent specialist who said it was eustach. tube dyf. with sens. ner. hearing loss. He prescribed cefpodoxime for 5 days along with decongestants with which it started to decrease initially. Tympanogram and audiometry after 3 days showed normal results (that was when i was feeling a bit better),but as soon as i stopped the antibiotics the symptoms returned again. I am again on the antibiotic and decongestant. the tonsil on the same side is also slightly swollen though not very painful. my ear is mildly painful and forceful blowing causes a crackling sound on the right side but not on the left side. This time the relief is not as before. Plz help
It may be due to acute suppurative otitis media. For that you may require complete hemogram, discharge culture after ENT consultation. You may require antibiotics after consultation. Use antibiotics ear drops after ENT consultation. Avoid ear piercing. Continue steam inhalation.
