Suggest Treatment For Painful Lump On The Chest After Falling Down
My daughter fell off her dangerous powerwing scooter back on June 12th (almost a month ago), well, she landed on the handlebars after hitting a small pebble. She was bruised very badly and the one bar went into her chest, leaving a scar. I wanted to take her to the ER immediately, but, she said she was fine, could breath ok and used ice. I worried about a cracked rib or something, but, she is 8 and said she was fine. The bruising went away, but, recently she bumped the area and now there is a hardened lump there with another bruise and she said its sore to touch. What could this be? I am calling the pediatrician tomorrow morning to see how soon I can get her in, we leave for vacation next week and now I worry.

Hi...this seems to be a hematoma which is forming due to disturbance to the old bruise which was healing. I do not think you need to worry about it. But my suggestion would be to avoid Ibuprofen as Paina killer as just give paracetamol in the appropriate dose if there is severe pain. This suggestion is just to stop the bruise becoming larger.
