Suggest Treatment For Painful Pinched Nerve On The Back

So I my 27 year old boyfriend thinks he has a pinched nerve in his back that started Sunday and he is still complaining with pain and it is Wednesday. He says that he also cannot hear out of his left ear and it started around the same time. Tuesday night he woke up.with a sharp pain that ran from around the pinched nerve up to his head and he said it felt like his left ear popped. He said he could hear out of the ear when he was in pain, but when he woke up the next day he couldn t hear out of it again. Could a pinched nerve cause this or is there something else possibly going on? I keep begging him to go to the doctor, but he says it will heal on its own.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful pinched nerve on the back . Well i would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI of spine .Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , muscle relaxants , narcotics or tricyclic antidepressants. Doctor may also recommend surgery . Doctor may also recommend surgery in which surgeons can remove the bone spur or the portion of the herniated disk that's pressing on the pinched nerve. For now apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Doctor may also prescribe vitamin supplements for quick healing .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
