Suggest Treatment For Painful Scalp Pimples

Hi, I get scalp pimples once I have more than 3 maturations in a month. They are very painful and they normally appear at the back of my head. in fact, my whole body shows some signs of infection when it happens, which is quite frustrating. I will be thankful if you help me understand the reason behind this problem. sex:male age:28

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to folliculitis which is an infection of the hair follicles. I suggest to clean the scalp with a gentle shampoo. I also suggest using an antibiotic cream for local application at the pimple area. If the symptoms continue, you should consult a dermatologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
