Suggest Treatment For Palpitations, chest Discomfort And Shortness Of Breath

Ih have aortic stenosis and regurgitation and have been stable for about 3 years, just recently I have been getting bery tired, have a little swelling in my feet and some minor chest discomfort and palpitations. Under and down the inside of my left arm is also uncomfortable at times, I am, also a little short of breath on exertion. I have not seen a doctor for about 2 years as I have been well, and I do not really want to bother with doctor again unless I really have to, as I have moved and do not know my new doctor

Cardiologist 's  Response
I have noted your history, you have aortic stenosis with aortic regurgitation. There are manily 3 important symptoms of significant aortic stenosis with or without regurgitation.1.chest pain or chest discomfert.2.shortness of breath on exertion.3.syncope or giddiness.
you have shortness of breath and also chest discomfert along with left arm discomfert.you must get your echocardiography as early as possible to judge progression and severity of your aortic lesion.you have not visited your doctor for last 2 years!
please go to a cardiologist and get yourself evaluated.you may need aortic valve replacemen, though final decision depends on severity of lesion.wish u best of luck.

Cardiologist Dr. Ilir Sharka's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for asknig on HCM!

I understand your concern, but I would recommend you to consult the cardiologist as soon as possible, as your aortic valve disease is actually symptomatic, and a comprehensive clinical and echocardiographic evaluation should be performed.

First a properly fitted medical therapy, (facing your current clinical condition) should be started, and secondly a comprehensive review of the clinical status and cardiac tests results should be done to decide if indications are met for a surgical correction of your valvular disorder.

Hope to have been helpful! Greetings! Dr. Iliri
