Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I never had anxiety or panic attacks but 2 months ago i had a really bad anxiety /panic attack and every since i have not felt the same as i did before the attack. i always have it on my mind and worry constantly about the feelings of a racing heart, nervousness, and scared feelings and pains are something more serious. Will your body cure itself and go back to normal or will this be constant from now on?
Hello I can understand your concerns. Panic attacks if occur frequently, turn to panic disorder if not managed properly. Since you having constant worries and fear of having panic attack, I think you require medical treatment. Drugs like klonopin and ativan (prescription drugs) work very well to control panic attacks. Also psychological therapies like biofeedback and behavior therapy can help in addition to drugs. Avoid tea coffee and chocolates as these precipitate anxiety. Thanks.
