Hi my name is Sandra Iam a 49 year old women in the past week I have had pelvic pain which then lead to lower back pain and currently pain in my left hip . I have been to my GP and currently on antibiotics I also was admitted to hospital Friday morning only to be released and informed to have an ultra sound which I have under gone results of bladder , kidneys and ovaries all showed as normal. I have never had any back problems and always been a strong women, can you help me. The pain has eased but only to return just when I feel Iam recovering.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. As you have done an ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis acute abdomen or chronic kidney stones can be ruled out. Now the conditions we can suspect is problems with spine sacroiliac joints or hip joint.An examination with orthopedician can give clue for that and a X ray followed by MRI might be needed to confirm it.If it is sacroiliac joint arthritis a local corticosteroid injection will give pain relief. In case of problems with spine like osteochondrosis or disc herniation i advise muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine NSAIDs like aceclofenac neurotropic drugs and recommend physiotherapy along with this.
