Suggest Treatment For Peptic Ulcer And Acid Reflux
what is the best medicine to cure for someone suffering from peptic ulcer and reflux acid. She is female of 54 years. She has tried some of the medications but it is not working, it just increases the side effects. she has tried to stop eating some of the acid foods but still feels pain.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... As she is not getting relief from the medications. I would suggest gastroscopy(endoscopy) needs to be done at first. It is necessary to rule out stomach cancer( which can be a possibility at this age), check for H.Pylori infection. In case of H.Pylori infection antibiotics are necessary along with stomach acid blocking medicines such as Proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole. They should be taken empty stomach in the morning. Domperiodone sustained release could prevent gastric reflux and could be combined with proton pump inhibitors. However slight changes in diet could also be done. Avoid fried & spicy foods which are done previously. Avoid heavy diet specially in the dinner. Do not drink water after having meals. Do not lie immediately after taking meals. A 2-3 hour gap between meals & sleep is good.
Consult a gastroenterologist
Hope this will help. Regards.
