i have ear problem. i consulted to doctor. They said operation because i have perforation in ear drum. i have question regarding operation. Is eardrum surgery will prove benificial to me or it will worsen the condition as i heard that ear surgery is not safe many times it fail. what to do need your advice regarding this.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have perforated eardrum, well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like altitude changes , infection, pricking by sharp object, allergy or tumor. But in your case it seems to me that the perforated eardrum from ear is due to infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine with otoscope or may order blood test CT scan and MRI to confirm the diagnosis or rule out condition like tumor . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course ( gentamicin) at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory. Doctor may also recommend patching of eardrum , tympanoplasty or radiation therapy for tumor .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
