Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough And Low Fever
I have a cheat cold I think. It started with a cough then chest. Started sunday. Monday I could not get out off bed. running any where from 99.5 to 101.8 temp. Weird I was super hungry. this morning 99.1 temp. This afternoon temp free. So I went to work. I haven t checked my temp in awhile. Hot cold hot cold. ???
You were having congestion symptoms at Sunday and Monday It could be viral upper respiratory tract infection. Now if after two days if you don't have symptom as mentioned than no further work up needed But if congestion still present or if fever present than your work up needed as follow.
- CBC - Auscultation - ASO titre - Chest x ray if needed
Peripheral smear examination for malaria parasite if sweating present and if malaria suspected For congestion relief Benadryl like decongestant drug prescribed Salt water gargle done three times a day Hot water used for drinking Vitamin C lozenges taken three to four times a day If fever increasing and if it seems bacterial infection than antibiotic started and sputum examination can be advised. Consult physician for examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
