Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headaches And Pain In The Eyes
Good morning. My father is 83 and has experienced migraines most of his life; however, he migraines have been daily for the last 6 - 8 months. He has pressure behind his eyes and stays tired. This is a man who is 5 10 , 175 lbs. and extremely fit. He continues to do carpentry work, gardening, reads and plays computer games. He and my mother socialize with friends and family 4 out of 7 days per week. He does not drink or smoke and has a relatively healthy diet. He checks his A1C three times per week and it is usually at a 5. His blood pressure is normal but his heart rate has increased to 100 bpm. My concern is that he reports being very tired and for the last few months he sleeps a lot - 4 or 5 naps a day and is awake at 5:00 am every day. Yesterday, his heart rate went from 100 bpm to 105 in a matter of three hours while resting. The headaches are more frequent with pain behind his eyes, but a CT scan found nothing. His doctor has tried three different meds for migraines but nothing seems to help. He had cataract surgery two years ago and his vision requires glasses which he reports do not cause him any problems. Glaucoma tests were fine . He has a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure but both his A1C and cuff readings are in normal status. Any suggestions where we might go from here?
Considering the family history with increased pressure behind the eyes, most striking condition here sounds to be elevated intraocular pressure responsible for a headache and pain in eyes.

Suggest Treatment For Persistent Headaches And Pain In The Eyes
Hi, Considering the family history with increased pressure behind the eyes, most striking condition here sounds to be elevated intraocular pressure responsible for a headache and pain in eyes. There can be microangiopathy of the ocular artery, cataract or other lesions responsible for the same. A thorough fundus examination with an ophthalmologist is a must to cure the condition at earliest. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
