Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have all the symptoms of menieres but doctors are reluctant to diagnose it I m left with looking for answers regarding vertigo and/or menieres. What eye exercises should i do that might cure these debilitating symtoms, I ve had menieres/vertigo for over 5 months, I cannot leave the house alone.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. I understand your concerns. First, the real cause should be fiund and in most cases this is benign paroxismal vertigo which is disorder in inner ear and should be treated with medications presribed by neurologist. Second, other causes include:
1.Meniere's disease. This is an inner ear disorder thought to be caused by a buildup of fluid and changing pressure in the ear. It can cause episodes of vertigo along with ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and hearing loss.
2. Vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis. This is an inner ear problem usually related to infection (usually viral). The infection causes inflammation in the inner ear around nerves that are important for helping the body sense balance
In every case it would be good to do MRI scan and see neurologist for further tests. I hope I have answered you query Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
