Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I was recently hospitalized with pneumonia, mono and anemia. I am a 37 yr old female with a past medical history of polycystic kidney disease with chronic hypertension. I tested positive ANA, sed rate of 53 and a CRP 8.3. I am also very fatigued with a low grade fever and mylagia.
There is no treatment for mono, you just have to wait that one out. Pneumonia is treated with antibiotics and the doctors in the hospital would be the best ones to decide which antibiotics would be best based on your history and exposures. Treating anemia depends upon the cause. For example if it is iron deficiency then iron would be the treatment, if it is from Vitamin B12 deficiency then that would be the treatment. If the anemia was from blood loss then you would have to find the source of bleeding and stop it.
