Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I ve been diagnosed with polymyositis and initially was on prednisone (very high dose) for quite some time along with cellcept 500mg daily. I ve been weaned-off the prednisone and currently on Medrol 4mg.daily along with the cellcept 500mg. daily. My concern is that I am beginning to feel weakness in my legs and afraid I will fall. My doctor does not believe the weakness is stemming from being on the Medrol. Is the weakness a side effect of the Medrol? My CPK levels have dropped and presently in the normal range (186 - 180). Appreciate your input.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the lower limb weakness then it must be due to disease it self and may not be due to medicines, if this is the weakness of limb then physiotherapy is the best option you have and it can be given try, hope this information helps.
