Suggest Treatment For Profuse Sweating In An Elderly Person While On Celexa
I have extreme sweating on and off throughout the day. My head starts to sweat upon the most slight exertion or the dew points go up. I am 70 years old. Moderately active and usually all wet. My hair hair never dries. I am in good health. The only med I take that might be causing this is Celexa for depression but I am coming off that. I have been on it for years along with other anti depressants. I came off all the rest. I have hypothyroid . I take med for that. What is going on with me. I hate the summer because of this. More normal in winter.
Celexa (citalopram) can cause excessive sweating. As you are going to taper it down as you have mentioned, I expect the excessive sweating to come down too. If there is a need to reintroduce anti depressants, avoid Celexa and go for other medications. Stopping and starting antidepressants should always be done based on doctors advice. Hope this helps. Thank you.
