General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. The glandular hyperplsia is a hormonal problem with excessive estrogen & comparatively less progesteron to control the glandular hyperplasia. It is common in overweight /high cholestrerol patients. I your case it is already diagnosed. Treatment consists of a cyclical or continues progestin preparation ( IUD /pills) -You seem to have phobia about Mirena.. still there is no harm in giving it a trial - Oral pills continuous or cyclical is another option of same drug. - The third option is hysterectomy. Thanks.
