Suggest Treatment For Psychologically Driven ED

Hi, I am almost certain I have a psychological driven ED, primarily from bad sexual experiences in the past and constant fear of not performing!.... I am not so sure how to tackle this issue. This has been the case for the last 5 years. Hiwever, I had a steady girlfriend for the last 2 years, and I rarely had any erection problems during that time. Any advice how to work on my problem... is seing a psychologist a good starting point or perhaps clinical hypnosis? Thanks

hi..it is very interesting and thoughtful that u know about your problem and actually want to resolve it. congrates for that.

most of the erectile dysfunction in adults and before the age of 55 are usually psychological unless one has any neurological illness, neuropathy that may be due to diabetes or other neurological illness, uncontrolled hypertension, spinal injury in lower back.

yeah, u are feeling that u might not perform well during sex because of the erectile dysfunction, and this keeps u occupied in a web of thoughts. these comes again and again and finally u lost control. actually it is hypothesized that when person has erection due to any local physical stimulus or visual erotic stimulus erection occurs due to multiple local and central neurological pathways but when u have different thoughts at the same time in your mind which distracts u a lot then the nervous system in not able to control your excitement and erection..so finally what u have to do is to work on your anxiety and the thoughts.
without medication u can calm your mind with light exercise daily in the morning like walking, jogging or meditation, yoga, relaxation exercises etc..

if u r not able to control your anxiety then u can take anxiolytic medications as and when required. like tablet clonazepam 0.25 mg half an hour before sex..

if this wont benefit you...then u shud consult a psychiatrist for the treatment of your anxiety which is mostly done with any antidepressant medication.

u can consult a psychologist for any kind of psychotherapy, if u find it better then taking the meds. so all depends on u, that how u want to get better?

if everything fails and the problem of erectile dysfunction is bothering a lot, u can occasionally take the viagra, but i wont in favor of that..

so among all these options u can choose, what best suits u...
best of luck..
