Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am an ER nurse and I had one incident where I felt like I was going to pass out and now since then almost every time I am assisting in a bloody or invasive procedure or even cleaning out a large open wound I get nervous I'm going to have that feeling again and I usually will get light headed, feel hot and sweaty and heart will feel like it's pounding. I have never actually passed out so don't know if this is just anxiety or if I will eventually pass out. Any suggestions of how to get over this? Have you heard of anyone doing hypnotherapy for situations like this?
You have anxiety disorder and in that case, low dose antidepressant like JPMR would definitely help you. You can also try benzodiazepine with relaxation exercise. Better to consult a psychiatrist for further management. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
