Suggest Treatment For Recurrent UTI In An Elderly Person
Dear sir, am talking on behalf of my uncle, a senior citizen. he has urinary tract infection since past 3 months..even after regular treatment from urologist, his uti keeps recurring..again now urine tests show 60-80 hpf pus cells..can u please Guide? He is running around to doctors for opinion. He is 78 already
Hi, it seems that he might be having chronic urinary tract infection with resistant bacteria. There is a possibility of having some problem in prostates as well. Go for routine urine testing with culture and sensitivity test to know specific organisms causing this infection and antibiotic medicine working against this organisms. After report go for long appropriate antibiotic medicine course. Ok and take care.
