Hi, my mother aged 76 years is sufferring from recurring UTI for last 5 or more years now. She has been on antibiotics ranging from ceftum, ceftrioxine, niftran to ertapenem IV . The day antibiotics are stopped she again gets the infection. What to do please advise ?
HI Well come to HCM Urinary tract infection is the common condition seen in female patients and difficult to treat some time, underlying cause of infection is matters and this need to be found out, certain test are to be done like ultrasonography, CT Abdomen, urine culture sensitivity test, in my opinion such condition some time well responds to "Sodium hydrochloride citrate" 20 ml four time in day, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
