Suggest Treatment For Recurring Headaches And Fever In A Child

Hi my 5yr old daughter said she had a sore head earlier gave calpol and she had a nap woke with temp of 38.5 then vomoted, cooled down with warm bath and in time more calpol temp has now returned to normal 36.5 but she had woke again really crying with a sore head I can t give anymore calpol til 10pm and she is asthmatic so can t have ibuprofen should o take her to A&E Thanks Worried mum

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of recurring headaches and fever which is due to viral infection as if fever episodes occurs twice in a day. Need not to worry it is a self limiting condition. You should give child multivitamin tablets. Give child Paracetamol at mild dose every 4-6 hrly. You can give child Tylenol as well. If this medicine will not give desired effect you should give Meftal P to your child. Symptoms will resolve its own in 3-4 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit Pediatrician once and get blood tests done and go for through examination and start treatment.
