Suggest Treatment For Red Eyes?

I just went to my eye Dr. My eyes are bright red & really blood shot. No discharge not itching. I have allegeries also. Have been to a specialist & have had 2 series in my life of shots. This week was really bad in Iowa for dust blowing. Sunday my eyes turned like this. I do work in a Optical Office too. She asked me if any glands in my neck had swollen said yes. Thinks I have Viral Eye infection told me to go home cold compress 4× a day for 15 mins & wash out eye every hour with refresh. I will be contagious for how long ? What do you think if redness doesn't go away should I see my medical Dr. ?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having viral conjunctivitis with swollen glands of the neck. This is typical of viral infections.
The treatment of the condition is by use of antibiotic eye drops to prevent second bacterial infection and by use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
The diseases usually runs a course of 1-2 weeks and you will be contagious for 3-5 days.

Thank you
