Suggest Treatment For Redness And Pain In A Sprained Foot
I sprained the top of my foot over 2 wees ago, xray showed no fracture. MD gave me walking shoe with velcro straps & to try to sty off of i. I have done that as much as possible. Today I woke to more pain than 2 weeks ago and the top of th foot is reddened.
As you have immobilized the foot there might be some lack of venous return leading to redness. there is nothing to worry. you can do hot water fermentation, a post which you can keep the leg over a pillow while lying down and do some ankle toe movements. this should help reduce pain and swelling. An x-ray revealed no fracture I feel this should be ligament sprain and need some time to heal. during the healing process you may find some discoloration of the skin too. Don't worry and this will be fine soon.
In my clinical practice of 12 years found most cases with similar complaints. but with rest and little exercise post 2-3 weeks of injury for about 1-2 weeks everything is fine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
