Hello,
You have history of herniation of L4/l5 & nerve impingement L5 / S1 and now you are experiencing sciatica pain with tremors and numbness in the legs.
Herniated disc with nerve impingement is commonly treated with conservative methods to avoid complications. Treatment is given with pain relievers, NSAIDS to reduce inflammation, pain and irritation of the nerve. Ice or heat therapy, staying at rest or restricted movements is advised. Do not exert yourself.
Epidural steroid injections helps to reduce sensitivity of the nerve fibers. Get connected to a Physiotherapist.
Physical therapy is effective, it will help to improve symptoms but you will have to have patience, nerve problems may take 3-6 months to improve. Get regular
massage therapy done to strengthen the muscles and improve blood circulation. Massage should be gentle. Avoid doing any heavy work like gardening, driving, sitting for a long time, strenuous exercise, laundry, etc.
Since your symptoms are indicative of developing
peripheral neuropathy, you should get clinically examined by a
Neurologist, get nerve conduction velocity tests, blood tests, imaging tests done to detect the degree of nerve damage. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, include anti inflammatory food in your diet. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12 or supplements to help nerve repair.
Take vitamin E rich food and food rich in minerals. It may take time bit symptoms should reduce. If symptoms do not improve your treating doctor may suggest
radiofrequency ablation, a non surgical procedure to reduce
chronic pain. Stay away from stress and addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
