Suggest Treatment For Second Degree Burns On Face And Arms

I have first and second degree burns on my face and arms, with few blisters. I got conflicting information from my prymary care physician and a dermatologist. Both recommended silver sulfadiazine cream, but the the dermatologist also recommended an oral antibiotic and Prednisone. I am a healthy 43 year old women. Should I take the Prednisone? Would it help prevent scaring, or it will only take care of the redness and blisters? The redness is reduced now to minor areas (after 2 days from the accident). Thank you.
