Suggest Treatment For Sensitivity And Pain After Molar Filling
I received a composite filling for one of my molars two weeks ago ever since the tooth has been sensitive to cold and hot beverages. I even feel pain when I chew food (but not when I press on it with my finger) this never happened while I had the cavity. In fact, I even told the dentist I felt pain when she was putting the filling in but she did not say anything. Could you please give me an idea of what could be the problem?
Thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. If the decay was near to the pulp then composite restoration might cause sensitivity. its better to go for silver amalgam filling with a proper thermal insulating base below the amalgam filling. The pain could be because of high points in restored tooth. consult a oral physician and get the filling removed and re restore with amalgam. if the decay is involving the pulp then it has to be treated with root canal treatment. Mean while you can take analgesics for pain. I hope my answer will help you. Take care
