Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Cramps

I am 63 years old, female, and last night I experienced severe stomach cramping while eating some ice cream and potato chips. It was very localized, in the middle, just below the sternum where the ribs V, not on either side. It did not radiate. No fever, no diarrhea, It lasted about 15 minutes and subsided after some belching. It occurred again this afternoon after eating some potato chips and chip dip. I have never had any lactose intolerance symptoms in the past, nor any stomach cramping like this before. jm

Hello,

It looks like a more of indigestion issue. As the symptoms of cramping are common in people with fried food habits.

Recent research studies show that over a period of time in the lifetime of human being, their metabolic activity is reduced due to a drastic reduction in the physical activity and stress due to additional job profile - housewife, working man/women, etc.

Also, your age is 63, which is indicative of having low metabolism and as haven't mentioned but might be some signs of heavy blood pressure and diabetic profile.

In the female, there are changes in the hormonal levels due to menopause which is also one of the facts that most female does not feel energetic like before and have some low levels of calcium and vitamin D.

I will advise you to avoid fried/junk food habits, get involved in regular Physical exercises, stay hydrated and modify your lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
