Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain And Bloody Diarrhea

Hi, I was prescribed naproxen for hip pain on Thursday, I took 1 tabs on Thursday morning Thursday night and 1 on Friday morning and stopped then cause the pain wasn t that bad. This morning I woke with server pains in my stomach along with diarrhoea and passing blood. . At this time now the pain is still a bit bad and still passing blood.. Is there any pain killer I can take for the stomach pain, please. Thank you.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea which seems to be due to viral infection of body leading to acute gastroenteritis and electrolyte imbalance in body. blood in stool can also indicate ulcers , piles , giardiasis or IBS. Give him banana on daily basis and light food. Avoid giving any sharp and spicy food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate him. Visit general physician once and get it examined. You should take antiemetic like domperidone and ranitidine for gastritis. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. You should start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole or albendazole depending upon the diagnosis . You should give Ibuprofen to your son along with proton pump inhibitors as well.
