Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! I was wondering if you guys knew what my skin condition is and how to treat it. I have a history of dealing with acne. About 2-3 months ago, my dermatologist put me on minocycline pills/100MG a day. After taking them for about 2-3 weeks,I broke out horribly on the sides of my face The redness has gone down alot(PHOTOS) but I m wondering how to treat it, so that it is no longer visible. If you could, please identify the skin condition and tell me ways to treat it... Thank you so much!
A very effective treatment for severe acne is oral isotretinion (Accutane). You may need to take it for a few months and need to have regular checks with your doctor and probably some blood tests during the time you are using this. If you are a female, you may need to have sure methods of contraception to prevent pregnancy as this may cause serious birth defects in the case of conception.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
