General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Based on the symptoms of chills and fever, it is likely that an infection is present.
Kidney or other urinary tract infections (bladder, ureter, urethra) cause symptoms such as urinary frequency, urgency to pass urine, discomfort on urination, blood in the urine, abdominal pain, malodor of the urine.

Some or all of these symptoms may be present.

Besides the chills and likely fever, you did not state the other symptoms present.
If you had most of the above the symptoms then it is possible that you had a kidney infection.
If you did not , then another infection may have been present.

The only way to know would be the presence of symptoms pointing to this infection.

I hope this helps
