Suggest Treatment For Severe Diarrhea While On Metronidazole
hello, my son14 months old he has been suffering from loose motion for yesterday with mild fever. I have given paracetamol 125 mg.5ml every 6 hrs, and metronidazole 100mg. 5ml. but no get relief .can I use walamycin with ibusesic syp, pls tell me its doses.
Hi Your child is suffering from gastroenteritis that could be caused by a. Viral, bacterial or parasitic infections. Metronidazole is well indicated in diarrhea caused by Entamoeba histolitica and other amibes and infections due to anaerobic organisms. It may not help if not caused by these organism. Other antibiotics might not help if the germ in cause is not sensitive to.I will suggest you get a stool exam and culture to identify the cause. In the meantime,you can continu paracetamol, add oral rehydration salt and zinc tablets.walamycin may or may not help but I will rather prefer a more objective medical prescription based on result of stool exam.You can see a Doctor for the prescription.
