Suggest Treatment For Severe Fatigue And Low Heart Rate

I am 79 years old, and suffer from fatigue and an erratic heart rate, today it was 35 at one point. I take felodipine, but I haven t taken it for three days. When my blood pressure is high, (168/93) I take 2.5 mg of felodipine, but that usually brings my blood pressure down quite low. (102/64) My heart rate varies from 72 down to 35 or 40. Today I see a black spot off to one side of my right eye, I don t see that as a symptom of a stroke, but it is new to me. My cardiologist says I do not qualify for a pacemaker.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you may need to change your blood pressure medications. Your heart rate is getting too low and blood pressure is changing from high to low. You may need to try Enalapril and Hydroclorthyaside or Losartan. Follow up with your cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
