Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache

Dear Doctor,
I was hoping you could assist me in some feedback regarding my symptons. Just to give you a brief on my current situation to assist you to understand: I am now aged 32 years and lead a healthy life style, excercising 5 times a week and eating plenty of fruit, vegetables, white meat and vitamins. I am happy in my paralegal career and have a moderately good marriage with one son. However since the age of 16 years I have been suffering from severe headaches, only in the side templates of my head, mainly only in the left side which then leads to severe blurred vision within a few minutes, similar to a pool ripple effect so that I am unable to see anything, sometimes the visions goes first and then the headache starts in vice versa order. In addition when I was younger I would get a paralysis type feeling when my vision would go and the headache would start, this would be in the left side of my upper body mainly through my arm so that feel I would be unable to move. In addition every now and then I get light head spins, but I honestly just put this down to maybe getting up too quickly, although sometimes it is worse than other times but again recovery only takes a few minutes never exceeding 5 minutes. Such episodes of the vision and headaches only last for around and hour or 2, they occur rarely every few months, sometimes only a couple of times in a year and have been going on since the age of 16 years. Recently, more specifically last night, one of the episodes occured but this time there were further effects, I was studying and suddenly I couldnt understand or comprehend anything I was studying or reading, it was like looking at a foreign language, although my grasp and knowledge of what I was studying is very good but suddenly none of it made sense and I could not make head or tail of it. My vision then started to go shortly after and shortly after that my headaches started, and this time in addition I was going over some law notes in my head and regurgatating them out loudly, I suddenly found I couldn't pronounce anything, although my brain was functioning and inside my mind I could say the words, my mouth could not pronounce or form the words my brain was sending to my mouth and instead other words which I was not even thinking about randomly started to come out of my mouth, it was very strange. It was like I was completely incoherent and unable to communicate my brain was doing onw thing and my mouth was coming out with something else, it felt like I was slightly possessed!!!. After which I took some paracetamol and decided to try to go to bed, however in light of last nights episode I think it may be time to seek a medical opinion rather than to continue to ignore such episodes. I awoke this morning with less of a headache and my vision was better however my left eye stil feels heavy and slight blurred vision, moreso from the corner of my eye and the pain is only in my left side temple. I feel I should have maybe gone to the doctor about this, yet as the episodes are so random and rare I did not feel it as much of an issue. I am not sure whether to put it down to anxiety or stress as my life has been quite turbulent, especially in the past, and my mind tends to always be thinking so I though maybe it was just a result of my mind doing over time. Just for your information in case it may help, my mother sufered from severe depression when I was very young and spent a while a mental institute, this being from when I was 10 years old to 17 years when she made a full recovery and is now fully recovered, strong remarkable woman, my father has suffered from a stroke, diabetes and high cholestrol but now has this under control and it was due mainly to diet and lack of exercise, which he has now changed, I have suffered from a past drug adition, namely heroin, from ages of 20 years up to 26 years, then at age of 30 years, after 2 and half years into my marriage I discovered my husband hadn't been faithful, which resulted in me then seeing a psychologist and having therapy to overcome it and make a decision as to what to do. SO with all this going on in my life I thought maybe it was just the stress and overthinking of it all that has been the cause of my headaches and visions loss but I think its time to get an informed diagnosis. So maybe this information will assist. I was hopng to get some feedback before deciding whether I actually need to go to for any type of check up, this would be greatly appreciated.

I await your reply.

kind regards
