Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I cannot sleep on either side as my hip joints start aching. I had a hip xray done which was normal. It is very troublesome and I end up not getting enough sleep as I have to keep switching sides all night. It also pains when I apply pressure at the area.
Based on the fact that the X-ray was normal it can be caused by problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons and other soft tissues that surround your hip joint. I recommend to do a muscle relaxant such a Baclofen. I also suggest using magnesium supplement for muscle relaxation. Warm compresses can also be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
