Turned 50 Anne on my birthday at the end of my period had my first serious hot flash. That was 7 weeks ago. Since that time I have had 10 to 15 hot flashes a day/night. If the hot flashes weren t bad enough just before they hit their peak of intensity I feel as though my body has gone into fight or flight. I have a huge amount of anxiety it will wake me up out of a dead sleep. My mental state is perfectly normal but my body is telling me to run or fight or something? Some days things ID stays with me throughout the day but my mind tells me everything is OK. Had a recent blood test my TSH is 3.5 4 some places say that s normal some places say it s not I have not had a menstral cycle since my 50th birthday 7 weeks ago

Suggest Treatment For Severe Hot Flashes
Hi Your TSH levels are normal.Any value between 0.4 to 4.5 is usually considered normal. Your symptoms represent the starting of physiological menopause.Hot flashes occur as a side efefct of reducing estrogen levels in your blood. You can consider hormone replacement therapy.Drugs like clonidine and some antidepressants are also beneficial. Non medical measures like wearing breathable fabric, drinking cold water and using ice packs, avoiding triggers like warm room, spicy food/alcohol is also helpful. Hope I have answered your query.
