General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Being diagnosed with sickle cell anemia is often associated with joint pain in young patients. Should get further x-ray and MRI studies for determination.

Also, is not a disease, but in fact, it's a type of lab test antistreptolysin O to detect the presence of antibodies in blood when our body is exposed to harmful bacteria such as of group A streptococcus.

Infection of this bacteria can happen even if you suffer from sickle cell anemia. However, all these tests will determine the right diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
