Suggest Treatment For Severe Migraine While On Vyvanse

My twenty year old daughter is on 70 mg of vyvanse daily to counteract the inability to focus and concentrate caused by topomax which she takes 150 mgs daily for severe migraines. At her recent check up with neurologist, she had high blood pressure and heart rate. He prescribed coredal and removed the vyvanse. She is complaining greatly of the fogginess and inability to focus. What are your thoughts? Have you had success with botox therapy for migraines?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to migraine. I suggest to try using painkillers such as Triptans to relieve the pain. Botox therapy can also be helpful. It can take a few weeks or at times months to take full effect. For some people the injection reduces the severity and frequency of attacks and in others it eliminates attacks entirely.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
