Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Hip Flexor Caused Due To Injury

I have a hip flexor injury. What is the best method for a speedy recovery and how long can I anticipate being inactive from golf . It appears to be a slow recovery with significant pain. What exercises should I be doing to help with recovery. I m 64 years old.

IS there only pain ?
or is there swelling ? Mass at the site of injury ?
is there any discoloration ? at site of injury

how long now you got this injury ? if more than 48 hours , try apply some hot compresses two or three times a day at the site of injury . avoid thermal burns to skin . (avoid using too hot at the skin)

walking if possible with normal casual walk speed if possible will be helpful.
otherwise lie down on plain floor and do flexion extension exercises for few minutes in a slow motion , at least 2 times in a day .

the recovery will depend on the severity of injury and how better you take care of your injury .
