Suggest Treatment For Severe Sciatic Nerve Issue

I have been suffering with a sciatic nerve problem since the 12th of July. just woke up with it in the morning. I did not do any straining or heavy lifting. It has beenover 4 months that I have been suffering and nothing gives me relief. I have been to PT, Aqua PT, chiropractor acupuncture and had 2 series of shots in my back and nothing is working. Iam being seen by a neurologist but I am getting very frustrated and my quality of life sucks. I am 76 years old and wonder if this is going to go away.,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You have practically tried all the options for pain relief for sciatica. In such cases, surgery is the last resort to get pain relief. It is by surgical removal of causative factor for the problem. Please consult your orthopaedic surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
